On this page, we give you an overview of what we have in place at MyAhmed to help protect you against phishing scams and other forms of manipulation and theft, including what you can do to protect yourself.

What is phishing?

Phishing, like most online scams, refers to an attempt by fraudsters to access your password, account or card information. Generally, fraudsters create many different forms of manipulation such as an e-mail to direct you to fake sites where you may provide your passwords. They may also try to trick you into thinking that they’re part of our support team. On the other hand, by running the files attached to these e-mails, your computer can be hacked and come under the control of the attacker.

Fraudsters will almost always approach you with an unsolicited message saying that there’s a problem with your account. They may also offer tempting scenarios in the form of pay raises, gifts, free vacations, and cash prizes. We will never do this.

How to protect yourself?

We do our best using ultramodern security systems for your safety, but remember, you also have a role to play. Here are a few simple steps you can take to keep your money safe online.

  • MyAhmed staff or any member of our in-app chat support team will never ask for your app passcode, card PIN, or any other personal information. When a person claiming to be from MyAhmed requests any of these, take a screenshot and immediately contact us via in-app chat or our support number.
  • Always use the most recent version of the app (download via Apple App Store or Google Play Store).
  • There is no account support offered by MyAhmed through social media platforms, or any agency partners. You should not deal with any MyAhmed agents via social media, as this is a scam.

How we protect you

MyAhmed has a dedicated compliance and anti-fraud team to ensure the safety of your account. You can join us in some of our efforts below to protect yourself from phishing attacks.

  • Fingerprint or face identification — The MyAhmed application allows you to access your account using either your fingerprint or face ID. Physical access to your account is protected by this. This also helps us make sure any transaction is being made by you and not a fraudster.
  • Disposable virtual cards — You can add disposable virtual cards to your account along with physical cards. Once the cards have been used for online payments, they will be destroyed, and the numbers replaced. This prevents them from being re-used. Additionally, the app gives you the possibility of freezing/unfreezing your physical card in fraudsters compromise it. compromise it.
  • Strong Customer Authentication — We require two-factor authentication (passcode and/or biometric) for any business-critical transactions, as well as a photo verification if you wish to change personal information.
  • 3D Secure (coming soon) — In May we’ll introduce 3DS to all MyAhmed customers. With 3DS, while making certain ecommerce payments (at the discretion of the merchant), you’ll receive a mobile notification from MyAhmed, asking you to log-into your account and verify that payment.

No security system is 100% foolproof at all times, which is why it’s important for everyone — including you, and all of us at MyAhmed— to remain vigilant in order to keep ourselves safe.

You stand a better chance of avoiding scams if you follow the tips on this page. You should also make sure the MyAhmed app is up to date.
